Goodbye Salad King!

On Saturday as I was walking out of the BMV bookstore, I walked right into the tear down of this Heritage building right at Gould and Yonge.  Built in 1888 and formerly the Empress Hotel, it is the only surviving 19th century building on the east side of Yonge Street.  It housed “Salad King”, a popular place for students at Ryerson and many others in the Yonge-Dundas area. I will definitely miss Salad King. Yum. I wonder what they will build there after!

goodbye
